HMS Daring 032
The Type 45 AAW Destroyer will represent a step change in the air defence capability of the Royal Navy in comparison with the class of ships that it replaces and, arguably, will be the benchmark capability for maritime air defence when it enters service. This is the seventh ship to bear the name. Launched at the BAE Systems, shipyard in Scotstoun on 01 February 2006 by HRH the Countess of Wessex. The T45 Destroyer is the First of Class of six ships to be built on the Clyde. Upon entering service in 2009, HMS Daring will be one of the most advanced warships.
