Thai Air Force Chief Calls on Minister for Defence

13 Jan 2009 -- The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Itthaporn Subhawong called on Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at the Ministry of Defence this morning. ACM Itthaporn, who is in Singapore for a three-day introductory visit from 12 to 14 January, also called on the Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Desmond Kuek and the Chief of Air Force Major-General Ng Chee Khern.

While in Singapore, ACM Itthaporn visited the Republic of Singapore Air Force's (RSAF) Air Combat Command and UAV Command at Tengah Air Base.

ACM Itthaporn's visit underscores the longstanding and excellent defence ties between Singapore and Thailand. The RSAF and the RTAF interact regularly through exercises, professional exchanges and courses. Such interactions have strengthened the mutual understanding and friendship between the personnel of both air forces. (news @ mindef)
