Singapore, Brunei Armies Exercise Together

The armies of Singapore and Brunei concluded a 10-day bilateral exercise codenamed Maju Bersama today. This year's exercise consisted of urban operations training and a combined live-firing exercise. About 290 personnel from the 2nd Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment; 3rd Singapore Infantry Brigade; and 3rd Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Forces took part in the exercise.

Singapore's Chief of Army, Major-General Neo Kian Hong and the Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces Colonel Hj Yussof Bin Hj Abdul Rahman officiated at the exercise closing ceremony today.

The Singapore Armed Forces and the RBLF enjoy a long history of close friendship and cooperation. Both armed forces conduct regular bilateral exercises, visits and professional courses. Such interactions have fostered mutual understanding and enhanced interoperability between the two armed forces. (news @ mindef)
